Why become a beach rat?

Beach volleyball is a sport that is developing all over the country, with more and more colleges adding it to their program. In today’s generation, players are beginning to play volleyball at a much younger age. Beach volleyball is another opportunity for young athletes to grow further in the sport, and have different opportunities for recruitment.

TRYOUTS ARE APRIL 28TH!!

Beach season is here!! It’s time to get our toes back in the sand. At Hernando elite beach the girls are trained to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Our tryouts consist of the players going through drills and workouts to see what they know and what group they belong in. Our groups are not based on age, they are based on experience and knowledge of what the athletes know in the sand. The last day to register for tryouts is April 20th. Payment of $400 will be due the day of tryouts as well as shirt and short for season. Once players are added to the team, payment will secure the players spot and beach gear will be ordered. PRACTICES FOR SEASON WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL WEEK OF MAY 5TH AS SOON AS PLAYERS ARE SELECTED FOR THEIR GROUP, THEY WILL FIND OUT WHAT DAYS THEY WILL HAVE PRACTICE. PRACTICE COULD BE MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY OR TUESDAY AND THURSDAY BASED ON THE GROUP. COACHES UNDERSTAND THAT MOST YOUNG PLAYERS ARE STILL ELEMENTRY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL THAT BEING SAID THEY ARE USUALLY THE LATER PRACTICE TIME AT 5:30. SOME HIGH SCHOOLERS COULD HAVE PRACTICE AT EITHER 3:30 OR 5:30 DEPENDING ON THE GROUP THEY MADE. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS BEFORE TRYOUTS REACH OUT TO COACH HALIE AT 352-263-9087

BEACH PROGRAM FOR AGES 11 AND UP

This program consist of two practices a week at either sunwest park or Tom Varn Park. Depending on what group the players make their practices could be on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. the times of practice are 3:30 or 5:30. We do our best as a club to accommodate times to work for everyone as best as we can, so please if you have any further questions on how tryouts are and how practice schedules usually GO, please let us know, you can reach coach Halie at 352-263-9087.
